Why is there something rather than nothing?

The video asks a fundamental question of metaphysics. Is there anything? If not, Why is there something rather than nothing? The answer can be perceived quite forthright at its base if we are strictly considering a comparison between something and nothing. But is there something because there is no such thing as nothing? Can it be that simple? Do we prefer to see something rather than nothing?
